Biotin-Ahx-ω-Conotoxin GVIA adds D-Biotin to the basic sequence of conotoxin. D-Biotin is a relatively stable substance. Linker such as Ahx (a 6-carbon linker) is required to be connected to the peptide chain. Biotin is more stable or more flexible. The Biotin-Ahx-ω-Conotoxin GVIA sequence retains the functional group structure of the conotoxin. In peptide synthesis, the addition of D-Biotin increases the hydrophobicity of the peptide.
