In a glove box filled with nitrogen, add Ru catalyst (1 mol%), amide (1.0 mmol), potassium tert-butoxide (1.2 mol%), and tetrahydrofuran (2 mL) to a 100 mL pressure-resistant tube, replace the air in the pressure-resistant tube with hydrogen (30 psi three times), and add Chemicalbook pressure with H2 (14atm). After placing the reaction tube in a protective cover, stir at a constant temperature for 36h in a reaction oil bath at 110 °C. After the reaction, the reaction system is cooled to room temperature, excess H2 is carefully discharged, and the solvent is removed under reduced pressure. Purification of the product by Kugelrohr distillation or column chromatography yields the target product molecule, hydroxymethylcyclopropane.
