Function
Senna, the active ingredient known as sennoside. The molecular composition of microorganisms in the colon is converted to another substance, rhein anthrone, the substance has a useful role in stimulating activity in the colon (bowel movements and improve the digestion of its speed) and increased fluid secretion. Sennoside laxative effect and its active metabolite rhein anthrone is considered to inhibit the large intestine water and electrolyte absorption, thereby increasing the volume of intestinal contents and pressure. It will stimulate the colon push-tightening campaign. In addition, the stimulation of active chloride secretion increases the role of intestinal water and electrolyte content. Active electrolyte transport in these changes depend on the serosal surface of calcium.
