Operational safety * XeF2 reacts with moisture in the air to form HF.
* XeF2 has a strong ozone smell.
* XeF2 needs to be packaged in dry nitrogen.
* The transfer of XeF2 from the PTFE bottle should be carried out in a dry nitrogen glove box or in a fume hood.
* The PTFE bottle is sealed under atmospheric pressure and packaged in a sealed metal can with a safe absorbent.
* Pass the helium and helium leak test, pressurize the cylinder to 100 kPa (gauge pressure).
* XeF2 is soluble in water (25 g/L at 0 C) and hydrolyzes to form HF.
