Vitamin C (molecular formula: C, H, O, CAS number: 50-81-7) is a water-soluble vitamin whose chemical name is L-ascorbic acid. As an essential nutrient for the human body, it has the functions of anti-oxidation, promoting collagen synthesis, and enhancing immunity. It is widely used in food additives (anti-corrosion, nutrition enhancement), medicine (prevention and treatment of scurvy, auxiliary treatment of colds) and cosmetics (whitening, anti-aging). It occurs naturally in citrus fruits and green leafy vegetables, and is often produced by fermentation in industry. Need to avoid light sealed preservation, due to oxidation failure. The recommended daily intake for adults is about 100mg. Excess may cause diarrhea.
