Camatinib is an oral inhibitor of the oncogene c-Met (also known as hepatocyte growth factor receptor (HGFR)), with potential anti-tumor activity. Camatinib selectively binds to c-Met, thereby inhibiting its phosphorylation and disrupting the signal transduction pathway of c-Met. C-Met is a receptor tyrosine kinase that is overexpressed or mutated in many types of tumor cells, playing a crucial role in tumor cell proliferation, survival, invasion, metastasis, and tumor angiogenesis.
