Function of Triptolide
Triptolide is a traditional Chinese medicine with a long and widely used history. Triptolide (TPL) is one of the main active ingredients of Tripterygium wilfordii. Tripterygium wilfordii is a natural product with a variety of biological activities. It is derived from the root of the traditional Chinese medicine Tripterygium wilfordii. Studies have shown that it has anti-oxidant, anti-rheumatoid, anti-senile dementia and anti-cancer effects. It is a diterpene lactone with multiple biological activities. It is derived from the root of the Chinese medicine Tripterygium wilfordii. It is the main active ingredient in the treatment of rheumatoid tripterygium wilfordii tablets and tripterygium wilfordii polyglycoside tablets.
Modern research shows that triptolide not only has anti-rheumatoid effects, but also anti-cancer effects. A large number of in vivo and in vitro studies have proved that triptolide has good anti-tumor activity against a variety of cancers such as leukemia, breast cancer, pancreatic cancer and lung cancer. Recent studies have found that in addition to specifically affecting certain proteins and signal pathways, triptolide can also inhibit a wide range of gene transcription, but its mechanism of action needs to be further clarified.
