Main Uses:
Anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant As a glucocorticoid drug, it is used to treat inflammatory diseases (such as arthritis, dermatitis, asthma, etc.) and autoimmune diseases (such as systemic lupus erythematosus) by inhibiting the release of inflammatory mediators (such as prostaglandins, leukotrienes) and immune cell function. Anti-allergy can relieve allergic reactions such as allergic rhinitis or contact dermatitis. Purpose of structural modification The introduction of 6α-methyl is usually to enhance the glucocorticoid activity (anti-inflammatory effect) of the drug and reduce salt corticosteroid side effects (such as water and sodium retention). 11β-hydroxyl is a key group for cortisol-like activity, while the 1, 4-diene structure enhances the affinity with the receptor.
